Evaluation and Training

Marlee is sweet, inquisitive and intelligent, and learns quickly. She relies on other horses since she is deaf. She will pick up front feet working on picking up back feet with foster. Can be spooky at times. Marlee's foster will be learning more about her and working with her to help her find her forever home.

Marlee’s trainer has worked with her on the ground, perfecting her ground manners and teaching her to navigate obstacles in hand. Marlee's been test ridden and is willing to carry a rider, but she doesn't seem to know much. If adopted as a companion, she qualifies for a novice handler. If adopted as a riding horse, she'll need an intermediate rider to bring her along.

Marlee's a great age to train, and she could make a wonderful trail or pleasure horse. Marlee does appear to be either deaf or suffering a good bit of hearing loss, which means she can't respond to verbal cues. But it doesn't impact her trainability or rideability.
