About Andoria

Andoria is a sweet, well-trained mare who has overcome a tough past and is ready for her forever home. She was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet through the courts. Although she was underweight when she arrived and hadn’t been handled in years, she’s blossomed with good care and handling and is going to make someone an amazing equine partner.

Andoria is competing in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Caitlyn Valle. Andoria will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. Evaluation and Training

Personality & Manners:
- Leads politely, though still learning to respect personal space (making steady progress).
- Good with fly spray.
- Great to catch most of the time, but occasionally she needs a bribe.
- Stands tied, enjoys grooming, and loves a good bath.
- Calm and cooperative for the farrier.
- Loads and hauls confidently.
- She’s at the bottom of the pecking order, never a troublemaker, and has lived in mixed herds of mares and geldings.

Training & Abilities:
- Ridden in halter or with a snaffle bit and in both English and western tack
- Walks, trots, and canters in arena and open fields.
- Comfortable bareback and out on trails.
- Has gone through water and over obstacles.
- Has been ridden in parades.
- Exposed to cattle, dogs, barn cats, and rough country—takes it all in stride.
- Lunges both directions at all gaits.
- Knows leg yields and side pass (still improving).
- Confident riding out alone or in groups.

Background & Care:
When Andoria came to Bluebonnet, she had severe tick infestations in her ears. The ticks are long gone but she may always have some scarring in her ears. That doesn’t affect her ability to hear or cause any problems.

Why She’s Amazing:
Andoria is amazing because she has the perfect blend of heart, resilience, and versatility. She has blossomed into a kind, willing partner who genuinely enjoys people (especially if they come with a bribe in hand!). She’s steady and confident whether you’re riding alone, in a group, through water, or down a parade route, and she takes new experiences in stride. Andoria is the kind of horse who makes every ride a joy.
