Evaluation and Training

Rigel had not been handled a lot before coming to Bluebonnet. He’s very nervous around people and hard to catch. Once caught, he leads ok. He has been saddled, but not ridden. The first time he was saddled, he bolted. The second time, he stood still but was very nervous. We don’t feel like he has been ridden before and needs to be started under saddle, starting with groundwork and building trust.

Rigel has shown to LOVE praise and has grown into quite the treat connoisseur! Rigel likes apple cookies, molasses cookies, alfalfa cookies... anything cookie, really. He enjoys being brushed and sometimes having his hair braided. Rigel is being introduced to a saddle.
