About Taylor

Taylor was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and placed with Bluebonnet.

She was adopted in 2024 and returned later that year after developing an infection in her eye that her novice adopters struggled to treat. After she was returned, her veterinarian recommended removing the eye and she has adjusted well to only having one eye.

Evaluation and Training

When Taylor arrived, she was emaciated but she quickly gained weight with a good feeding program. Her foster home says she can be a bit tough to catch if you don’t have a treat or bribes, but once caught she will lead, load into a trailer, stand tied for grooming, stands for the farrier, fly spray, and baths.

She knows how to lunge and has been around kids.

In March (2024), Taylor was test ridden by an experience child in an arena. She did well under saddle in the arena at a walk and trot. She’s probably not ready for a beginner child rider but should do well with a small beginner adult especially if they’re taking lessons, would do fine with an intermediate child rider, she could do leadline with a beginner, and she could be ridden by a novice child rider who is taking lessons or working with a trainer.
