Dawson is a love. He really likes getting his neck stroked and putting his head on his foster's chest for some snuggles. Dawson and his foster mom are learning about each other and gaining trust every day.

Dawson is learning patience while being tied and stands very nicely.
He is learning to walk at a nice pace and calmly while being led.
He LOVES grooming with a gentle touch, and he has learned to enjoy his tail being washed and groomed. Dawson has put on weight and is filling out nicely. He has a lovely floating trot and deep chest and a nice full hip. With all of the grooming his foster mom has been able to do, he has a gorgeous copper glow to his chestnut coat and has a very soft coat. His foster has been working on picking up his feet and will continuing working on this. He is fine with spraying off with a hose but not a fan of the fly spray and detangler.

Dawson is learning to wait patiently until it’s his turn for his feed (started kicking the stall gate in anticipation but we’re working on that). He would run off as soon his foster took his halter off, but now he will now drop his head to be haltered and drop his head to be released. He will trot off now sometimes, but he is getting much better.

He also loads in trailer with patience and his foster is working on him being more confident. He is learning to move from pressure and backing up. He is fine with spraying off with a hose but not a fan of the fly spray and detangler.

Dawson is very curious and likes to be right by his foster's side while she cleans his stall and paddock. Dawson is also a budding comedian. His foster uses a large fish net to clean Dawson’s water bucket and if not paying attention, he will grab it and shake it. He also likes to grab the manure rake if not looking and “help” clean. During the past storm his foster blanketed Dawson in his paddock loose without a halter. He stood perfectly still while she fussed over fitting the belly straps, leg strap and front buckles. He was unfazed when she took his blanket off.
