About Bowie
Bowie came to Bluebonnet when his owner could no longer care for him. He and his herd mate lived out on a huge acreage and spent their days doing whatever they liked, which means that sometimes he forgets about personal space.
Unlike many of our rescues, he wasn’t underweight—he was obese! With the help of his foster family and veterinarian, Bowie slimmed down to a much healthier weight and is now feeling (and looking) fantastic.
Bowie is an adorable, affectionate guy who loves people. He’s also very smart and responds quickly to gentle corrections and has come along quickly with training.
Bowie is competing in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Maddison Amason. Bowie will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. His smooth gaits, quick learning, and eagerness to please make him a joy to train and ride. His sweet, affectionate nature makes him just as enjoyable to be around on the ground.
