About Sultan

Sultan was approximately 20 years old when he came to BEHS from a neglect case in 2007. He recovered quickly and we discovered that no one ever told Sultan he was supposed to be “older”! He was adopted by a family for some light riding and lots of petting in 2008, but they had to return him in 2011 when they moved into town. He seemed to have an issue with rearing, but upon going to live at a new foster home, his foster mom not only fell instantly in love with this big, beautiful boy, she quickly realized that Sultan had been trained to rear on command. She knew he wasn’t leaving and quickly adopted him. His adopter, who loved him as an equine soulmate, found him in distress one morning and got him to the veterinary clinic. Unfortunately it was Sultan’s time to leave, so with tears rolling down her face she gave the vet permission to help Sultan cross over.

Evaluation and Training

Sultan is fairly well broke to ride, although probably not for a beginner. He'll make someone a smooth and comfortable riding horse .
