About Katie
Katie was surrendered to BEHS when her owner was being investigated for neglect. She has not been handled but is extremely young and will learn quickly. Her mom is BEHS #207 Brandy. She came to the 2010 Bluebonnet Horse Expo where her misbehavior caught the eye of a trainer who hoped to work with her. He did work with her, but she did not get along well with other horses at his place and he returned her. Katie went to training in the spring of 2012 then moved into a few home who had a couple of children. The kids fell in love with Katie, so the family adopted her. They had Katie for over four years and loved her greatly. They lost her to a tragic accident. Our sympathies go to Katie's family and all of her connections.
Evaluation and Training
Katie spent a couple of weeks in April 2012 with a trainer. He didn't believe she had been ridden before, but she came along quickly. She seems to love attention, and while she's very green under saddle she is also willing and shouldn't be hard to continue bringing along.
