About Lad

Lad came to BEHS when his owners could no longer care for him. He’s a little gaited horse who was green broke when he arrived. He was adopted by a family in 2008 and returned in 2013 because the daughter had outgrown riding. He attended the 2013 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and was adopted. He was returned in December 2015.

Lad was in training for the foster horse under saddle division of the 2016 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. He was not able to compete as his foster home could not attend, but he was adopted anyway!

Evaluation and Training

Lad was green broke when he came to BEHS, but he was with an adoptive family for several years. Their teenage daughter rode him some and he was ridden by 4-Hers. He was returned when the daughter lost interest, and he hadn't been ridden in some time.

Lad is with Sarah Osborn who is riding him to prepare him to compete under saddle at the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She’s been riding him in arenas, on trails, and over obstacles in preparation for the Challenge.

He should make a nice trail or pleasure horse for a lucky family.
