About Jubilee

Jubilee is a 2001 Thoroughbred mare. She came into BEHS from a neglect case and she was emaciated when she arrived. Once she gained weight, her coat shone and she looked beautiful. She was adopted and returned. In 2011, she was readopted and is going to join Chloe, another adopted BEHS horse. Jubilee was returned in 2014 because her adopter did not have time to ride and thought she would enjoy a home where she could be ridden. In 2015, Jubilee was adopted by one of the trainers who has competed multiple years in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge to be used as a lesson horse. Unfortunately, Jubilee developed a lameness issue that left her unsuitable for the lesson program, and she was rehomed (per BEHS's rehoming policy) with a new adopter in 2016. Jubilee will be kept her adopter's other horses company, until she passed away due to complications from cancer in 2020.

Evaluation and Training

Jubilee was trained for racing before she came to BEHS. She was adopted in 2009 and trained for mounted patrol. She was used for the Galveston County Mounted Patrol and her adopter said she was amazing, working Mardi Gras and Lone Star Bike Rally with no problems. She went through training with Harris County Mounted Patrol and earned a high point rider award during training. Her adopter could stand on her back, shoot a gun off of her, rider her over a teeter toter and many other obstacles. She was returned through no fault of hers, adopted in 2011 and used as a trail and pleasure horse. She prefers having a job and likes to go, and she’s hoping to find an adopter to have fun with!
