About Yancy

Yancy came from a horrible seizure - a place other horses had died. He was the herd stallion, and once he gained weight he was gelded. He’s had to adjust to his new role in life, and he was adopted in 2010. He was returned in 2012 because he wasn’t getting along with other horses in his pasture. He was adopted later than year and returned in 2018 when his adopters decided to get out of horses.
Yancy competed in the 2018 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo. She met her adopter at the Expo. Congrats Yancy!

Evaluation and Training

Yancy's foster home says that he's friendly and noisy. He comes up to check everyone out, and he is easy to catch and leads well. He stands tied, and he stands for the farrier.
In 2010, his foster home sent him for training. He came home barn sour and very green. He was then adopted by a family as a riding horse, but they ended up not riding. So this year, he was enrolled in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge to be restarted under saddle. He’s done very well – his trainer has been riding him an arena and over obstacles . He’s such a nice horse and has enormous potential!
