Many of you know and remember that Tex and some of the other BEHS horses were on ABC's Nightline in 2009. The story was on the drought in Texas and its effects on rescue, and we actually went with the TV crew out to Tex’s owner’s place and picked him up – she couldn’t afford to feed him. He looked pitiful and was really the face of rescue. He came home with a Bluebonnet member that night and was with her for several months before he moved over to his long term foster home. Kristin finished his rehab. and he looked awesome. She spoiled him rotten and loved him – showing him off at the Expo! Unfortunately a few days ago, Tex stopped eating and got lethargic. He spent a few days with the vet, but his ancient body had just given out on him. Kristin took him some peaches this morning (his favorite treat) and spent time with him before the vet helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge. Good bye old man!
