About Taffy

Taffy was just a few months old when she came to BEHS, and she had a terrible injury on her face which required surgery. She healed nicely, though and was adopted as a baby, but returned when she was 18 months old. She moved through a few foster homes and landed with Stephanie in 2011. They trained together for the 2012 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and did great! Taffy was adopted by a very sweet lady who had to return her in 2014 due to her (the adopter's) health. Taffy attended the 2014 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and was adopted at the event!

Evaluation and Training

Taffy was started under saddle in 2012 by a foster home in preparation for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Her foster home got her going under saddle, started her on trails, and even used her for leadline rides for her children. Her adopter continued her training and rode her on trails and let her kids ride her. She's still green but she's a sweet horse who could do almost anything.

Taffy competed in the 2012 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge on October 20, 2012 at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo in Austin, Texas. She placed 5th in the Foster Horse Under Saddle Division.
