About Branigan O'Blue
Branigan was born in a BEHS foster home. Her mom had been removed from negligent owners and was already pregnant when she was placed with BEHS. Branigan was born healthy and grew up never knowing neglect in fact, she didn't want for anything. She is a little pistol, cute, and has a strong mind.
Sadly, Branigan O' Blue was sent over the Rainbow Bridge due to declining health issues.
Evaluation and Training
Branigan's former adopter taught her to carry a saddle and sat on her back a time or two. From July-October 2014, she was in training with trainer Matthew Dick. As of early October 2014, she walks, trots, and canters under saddle in both directions. She knows how to stop and is performing lateral work. Branigan O'Blue is very sensitive to having her ears handling. Her trainer says, ""With horses like her I've learned that the more you try to desensitize them to their ears being touched it makes it worse. We just go about our training and work with her daily." As of December 2014, she's with a foster home who is continuing to work with her, and she says Brandi's doing better about having her ears handled but she'll still need someone patient to work with her. She's being ridden regularly and knows how to neck rein. Her foster home says she's a sweet mare who is a joy to handle and work with. Brandi was adopted in the spring of 2015 and has continued her training. She's been on many trail rides and has even been swimming.
