About Finley
Finley was seized by law enforcement and awarded to BEHS. Finley was a sad sight when he arrived at BEHS, but he quickly gained weight. He spent a couple of months in training in 2011 and continued searching for his “forever home”. He met his adopter in July 2012 and it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, Finley was returned two years later when he refused to tolerate a new foal who was born on the property. He was moved to a new foster home and met an adopter quickly. His new adopter plans to put Finley to work!
Evaluation and Training
Finley spent September 2011 with a professional trainer. He was started under saddle, and the trainer says he's very quiet under saddle. He's ridden over trail obstacles, on the trail and in the arena with no problems. He wasn't ridden by children, but they were around him and handled him at the trainer's and he was quiet with them. He's still green, but the trainer believes he has great potential as a kids pony with some work.
Finley is competing in the 2014 Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society in the Foster Horse Needing Additional Training division with Linda Kirk. He will be available for adoption for approved adopters at the Challenge.
