About Minnie Pearl

Minnie Pearl was seized by law enforcement and awarded to BEHS. She was emaciated when she arrived, but she gained weight and filled out. Her foster home discovered that she was good with kids and at least green broke. Her adopter had already adopted one BEHS horse and needed another one to keep her company. She, sadly, had to return Minnie Pearl in 2015 after her property was badly damaged in flooding. She attended the 2015 Bluebonnet Horse Training Challenge, met an adopter, and went to a new home!

Evaluation and Training

Minnie Pearl is a sweet mare who stands tied for brushing, is good for the farrier and likes to "talk" to you. She's been line driven and did well, been saddled and mounted. Minnie Pearl reins, stops, and backs on command. You have to really work to get her to move out but other than that she did everything her young rider asked her to do when test ridden.

In August-September 2015, Minnie Pearl spent time with a trainer for an evaluation and refresher. The trainer took her on trails, rode in her several different outdoor and covered arenas, rode her at a ranch cutting practice (she did not do any cutting but was ridden in the arena), and hauled her to several different events. Minnie Pearl is a quite mare who seems to adjust easily to where ever she's taken to, and she ought to make a nice riding horse for a lucky adopter.
