About Foxy Girl

Foxy Girl and 11 other horses were part of a cruelty seizure in NE Texas. Foxy Girl and her herdmates were awarded to BEHS by the courts. She recovered beautifully from neglect, and it was clear she was a strong-willed and energetic girl. After waiting almost two years, Foxy Girl met her adopter! We're excited that she's found a home and expect great things from the pair!

Evaluation and Training

Foxy has spent the 60 days prior to the Expo with a natural horsemanship trainer (Jere Johnson, Natural Remunda Training Center, Utopia). When training started she was like many mustangs very untrusting and wild. Then one day, like many untrusting horses, she decided to trust her trainer and became much tamer and calmer. Her skills on the seven games, which teaches the horse how to yield to pressure, move forward, backwards, and sideways are pretty good and improving daily. Very sound, Foxy is a beautiful mover. Foxy stands well for the farrier and a bath. She also loads and trailers well. At 14 hands she is still growing and will make someone a wonderful mount with further training. In January 2013, Foxy Girl will start training at North Central Texas College in Gainesville. Her adoption fee will be evaluated as her training progresses.
