About Lady Hawk

Lady Hawk was removed from negligent owners and placed with BEHS. Lady Hawk competed in the professional category of the 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She was adopted by a family who attended the Bluebonnet Horse Expo and saw her competing! In 2015, she was rehomed with the trainer who trained her for and competed in the 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.

Evaluation and Training

Lady Hawk is very beautiful petite, seal brown mare who is very loving and affectionate. She has been in training with Paulina since late July 2013. Her training has progressed with flying colors, ecspecially her ground work and jumping. Lady Hawk loves to work hard and please her humans, and seems to really enjoy being mentally challenged. She’s been started over jumps, she’s been riding in fields and on trails, she’s navigated difficult obstacles, and she went to her first play day in September 2013! She and Paulina have even played around with reining, dressage, and at liberty maneuvers. She can be food aggressive towards other horses (that’s not unusual for a horse who has been starved) but otherwise has amazing ground manners. At the moment she rides without a bit, but could carry one with the proper training as her teeth have finally seem a dentist! She’s still green but has drive and potential to do almost anything!

Lady Hawk is competing with Paulina Liszka in the professional division of the 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She will be available for adoption at the Challenge on October 19th, 2013 at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo in Austin, Texas.
