About Dirk

Dirk was seized by law enforcement and placed with BEHS. He gained weight, underweight a cryptorchid surgery, and thrived in his foster home. He was adopted in 2012 by someone who met him and worked with him in his foster home. Unfortunately he was returned in 2015 due to personal reasons (no fault of his).

Dirk competed in the professional division of the 2016 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and was adopted at the event. His adopter rehomed him with a family she knew who was looking for a horse in 2017.

Evaluation and Training

Dirk is a sweet, smart and cute horse who tries hard to please. He was adopted in 2012 by someone who met him and worked with him in his foster home. When Dirk was returned in 2015 due to personal reasons (no fault of his), he went to trainer Danielle Meyers, who originally had worked with him on the ground and in-hand.

Dirk is with Twylight Allison preparing for the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She will be riding him in arenas, on trails, and over obstacles to prepare for the Challenge.
