About My Chiquita

My Chiquita was removed from a negligent owner along with two other horses and placed with BEHS. Once she recovered from neglect, we discovered she was well broke to ride. She was adopted and then returned when her adopter had health problems.

My Chiquita moved to a new foster home at the end of 2017. Her home, a first time foster, quickly fell in love and decided she needed to keep My Chiquita. Congrats to My Chiquita and her new home!

Evaluation and Training

My Chiquita is an easy mare to work with. She's easy to catch and halter, leads well, stands tied and stands for brushing, bathing, etc. She was evaluated by a trainer in 2012 who felt she had been trained to ride in the past. She was adopted and not ridden until she was returned in 2017. She's currently with a youth rider preparing for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She appears to be fairly well broke to ride and good with trail obstacles. Her only issue is that she's very gate sour in an arena - this is improving with work.

She ought to make someone a nice pleasure or trail horse.
