Shiraz is a nice mare who leads, loads, and stands tied. She stands for the farrier, grooming, fly spraying and saddling. She's easy to saddle and bridle, and she spent a week in September 2012 with a trainer for evaluation. He thinks someone got her green broke years ago and then did nothing else with her.

Shiraz was restarted under saddle for the 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She was very green when she competed at the Challenge and was nervous, but she did well. Since then her foster home/trainer has continued to work with her. She is reluctant to canter under saddle and needs someone who can work with her on that, but she's been ridden by both adults and children in an arena at a walk and trot with no problems.
