About Red Lady Tess
Red Lady Tess was removed from negligent owners in a joint effort between BEHS and law enforcement. Her herd was then awarded to BEHS by the courts. All the horses had been neglected, and Red Lady Tess was also blind in one eye. Her foster home did a beautiful job rehabilitating her and housed her for over two years while waiting for the right person to adopt her. She met her person, Traci, the week before Traci’s birthday. Red Lady Tess is the perfect gift to herself!Traci had Red Lady Tess for four years when Tess crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our symapthy to Traci and all of Tess' connections!
Evaluation and Training
Tess' foster mom says she's sweet and easy to handle on the ground. Tess is sweet and easy-going. She was evaluated by trainer Mark Lyon in February 18 and he feels she's not broke to ride. She does go along pretty well in the round pen at a walk and trot but doesn't want to go faster than a trot. She would probably be ok for leadline rides or maybe occasional quiet and brief rides (starting in the round pen or arena before going elsewhere).
