About Chesapeake Dream

Chesapeake Dream, aka Peake, was surrendered to animal control when her owner was investigated for neglect. She was emaciated when she arrived. Peake trained for the 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She and her trainer were unable to compete, but her trainer decided to adopt her. Unfortunately she had to return Peake in 2014. Peake did well for her foster homes and learned a lot in 2014. Unfortunately, in 2015 she crossed the Rainbow Bridge after several bouts with colic.

Evaluation and Training

Peake spent two weeks in training with Hilary LoBue in December 2014. Hilary worked with her on the ground and put in a handful of rides, but Peake is still very, very green. While working with her, Hilary discovered that Peake has an issue with pulling back when tied, leading, or being bridled. She will need an experienced handler who can help her work through her trust issues.Chesapeake Dream will be competing in hand in the Foster Horse in Hand division of the Bluebonnet Horse Expo on October 17, 2015 and will be available for adoption then.
