Hanks a Lot was worked with from July - October 2014 in preparation for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. He was started under saddle and ridden in an arena and on trails.

He was returned in November 2016 and went to trainer Hilary LoBue for a refresher in December 2016. Hilary has been riding him English and over jumps and says he's got potential as a nice hunter/jumper! She says, "He is very athletic and likes a job, he looks forward to being ridden but he also needs praise when he is good. He is sweet, wants attention and praise but needs a handler/rider to keep him focused on a job. I think he has great potential."

Hank is a very sweet-natured horse. He walks, trots. canters, backs, sidepasses, and half-passes. He trailers easily, stands for saddling/mounting, and stands well for the farrier. He is a high energy horse at times, and will need a confident rider that can work with him consistently. Hank is amazing on the trail, and has a great walk that covers lots of ground! He is not spooky on the trail, and just needs a reminder in the beginning to slow down. He would make a great endurance or trail riding partner. Hank has good ground manners, and is very easy to catch. He would not do well being kept in a stall, as this makes him nervous. He is low man in herd order and gets along with everyone.
