About Nutmeg

Nutmeg was also adopted on Saturday at the Texas Lost Pines Riding Club Benefit for BEHS (April 19, 2014). She came to BEHS as part of a neglect case in November of 2013. She gained weight quickly and learned to trust her new humans. She learned to lead, longe, and navigate trail obstacles in hand. She left for training in early April and was met by someone who knew her trainer. They fell in love and adopted her! She's going to get to be a 4-H pony and best friend. Congrats to Nutmeg, Karen, and all of Nutmeg's new family!

Evaluation and Training

Update: Nutmeg will be with a professional trainer during April and May of 2014 to be started under saddle. It appears that Nutmeg was not handled much before coming to BEHS. She’s shy, but she likes attention once she gets to know you. Her foster home has been working with her in hand to improve her leading, softness, and flexion and say Nutmeg learns quickly. She’s currently learning to longe and navigate trail obstacles in hand. She’s a perfect size to train as a kids riding pony or a driving pony!
