Congrats to Chucho and his adopter! He came to BEHS in Dec. 2013 from a neglect case and quickly moved into a new foster home. From Chucho’s foster home and adopter:As soon as Chucho stepped off the trailer, I liked this horse. He showed no fear, only curiosity about his new surroundings and settled in quickly. Within a week, my husband (who is not a horse person) was asking me if I wanted to keep this one. About three weeks after Chucho arrived, I had to say goodbye to Beauty, my beloved mare and companion of fourteen years. When I returned from that sad trip to the vet clinic, Chucho was waiting for me with his usual calm demeanor. What a comfort he has been to all of us during this difficult time! My other gelding, Rayo, would have been very lonely without his new friend.What impresses me most about Chucho is that he has never given up hope. Despite obvious long-term neglect, he comes running when called and greets everyone at the fence with the same cheerful, optimistic expression.
