Despite an unfortunate start in life, Trixie has grown into a sweet, beautiful filly. She had very limited handling before coming to BEHS, but Trixie has been handled almost daily and now possesses excellent ground manners. She comes trotting up to her handler at the sound of a clicker and readily sticks her nose in a halter (for a treat). Trixie is responsive while being led, loads, and stands calmly when tied. She is good - but not perfect – with the farrier. Being young, this filly would benefit from continued practice with these skills.

Trixie rarely spooks and approaches a variety of obstacles with confidence. She has been exposed to many different animals and takes them all in stride. Because she is intelligent, Trixie is trained easily and knows a few tricks. Furthermore, she can be touched all over and has displayed no dangerous behaviors.

Trixie has developed into a flashy rose gray with a nice conformation, baby doll head, and large, expressive eyes. Her best attribute, however, is her wonderful temperament. Trixie is super gentle and quiet, having an easy going disposition and good mind. She is sensible, and her pleasing demeanor makes her a delight to be around.

Because Trixie was starved throughout much of her young life, we would prefer she go to a home where she will not be started under saddle until she’s three. She is a perfect age to start ground work with now, though, and she ought to be able to do almost anything an adopter trains her for!
