BEHS 733 – Whinny Girl

Whinny Girl was evaluated by a trainer while at her foster home in December 2014. The trainer said that Whinny Girl is a sweet and kind mare who has excellent ground manners. The trainer believes someone has been heavy handed with her while riding and needs to be restarted under saddle.

Whinny Girl spent four months with trainer Erika Forstrom to be started under saddle for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Erika says Whinny Girl is very eager to please. She's also a very forward horse who loves to trot and canter. Whinny absolutely loves bathes. She can be sprayed everywhere, including under the tail, between hind legs, and all over her head. Someone has taught her to instantly back out of a trailer. Her most endearing personality trait is she nickers and dances around at the gate for her feed bag. But is very respectful for you to put it on. Erika says she really enjoys having her around.

Erika has ridden Whinny Girl english and western, on trails, at a horse show, and over obstacles. In September, they attended Whinny Girl's first horse show. She placed third in English Halter and 5th in Maiden Walk/trot western pleasure. She has Whinny Girl backing through Ls, pivoting in a box, dragging a tire, crossing a tarp, and navigating other obstacles.

She could make a good hunter or jumper, playday horse, or endurance prospect.

Whinny Girl competed under saddle with trainer Erika Forstrom in the professional division of the Bluebonnet Horse Expo on October 17, 2015 and will be available for adoption then. After the obstacle course, Whinny Girl was in the top eight horses and did well on her freestyle.
