About Buttercup

Buttercup was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and placed with BEHS.Buttercup competed in and won the in hand division of the 2015 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She was adopted at the 2015 Bluebonnet Horse Expo by someone who met her while she was preparing for the Training Challenge!

Evaluation and Training

Buttercup is a sweet filly who appears to have had good handling before coming to BEHS. She leads well and easily loaded into a trailer. She stands quietly and knows how to stand tied. She is easy to catch as well, and she stands for grooming, bathing, and fly spraying. Her foster home has been working with her to teach her to carry a saddle, navigate trail obstacles and work in hand. She's doing great with everything they ask. Because she's only a yearling and was neglected before coming to BEHS, whoever adopts her will need to wait until she's three to start riding her, but she's a great age to show in hand and teach great ground work skills! In September 2015, Buttercup attended her first horse show and placed first in in hand trail.
