About Melody
Melody was surrendered to BEHS when her owner was investigated for neglect. She did not appear to have had a lot of handling before coming to the rescue. She spent time with trainer Shauna Pollan and was started under saddle . She was adopted as a riding horse, and we look forward to hearing about her new adventures!
Evaluation and Training
She spent four months with a youth handler to prepare for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She’s learned to be handled on the ground and to navigate obstacles in hand. Melody was with trainer Shauna Pollan from October 22-January 14, 2017 to be started under saddle. Shauna taught her to load well, and she rode her in arenas and on trails. Shauna says Melody is not spooky. When she left Shauna's, Melody still needed to work on building the confidence to go out on the trail alone or to lead the group, but she was improving with each ride. Melody should make someone a great working, pleasure, or trail horse!
