About Smokestack Lightning
Smokestack Lightning was placed with Bluebonnet when her owner could not keep her. Smokestack Lightning placed 4th in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge in 2016. She was adopted by someone who met her while she was preparing for the Challenge but returned a few weeks later. She was adopted six months later by a family to be a family riding horse. She was returned in December 2018. She enrolled in the fall 2019 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She placed 3rd in the professional division, and she was adopted at the event!
Evaluation and Training
Smokestack Lightning hadn't been started under saddle when she came to Bluebonnet. She spent 2.5 momths with a trainer to prepare for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge in 2017. She placed 4th in the professional division. Her trainer started her under saddle and over trail obstacles. She also trail rode her. Smokestack Lightning has been adopted and then returned twice for bucking. She seems to be a smart mare who will take advantage of less experienced/confident riders, but she is amazing with more experienced riders.
