About Bonnie
Bonnie was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet by animal control. Bonnie was emaciated when she arrived, but she blossomed into a lovely young horse with good rehabilitation. She was assigned to a trainer for the 2018 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge but did not get to compete. The handling and training she received helped her get an adopter, though, and we're looking forward to hearing great things about how she is doing!
Evaluation and Training
Bonnie is a cute pony. She leads, loads, and stands for the farrier. She spent about five weeks with trainer Hilary LoBue and was started under saddle in the fall of 2017. She only had a few rides and then was not ridden again after October 2017.
Bonnie is enrolled in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge for 2018. Her trainer has spent a lot of time on ground work, but due to weather and a new job, she has only been ridden a few times. Bonnie’s got huge potential – she’s just going to need someone who can continue the great foundation her two trainers have given her.
