About Ketchum

Ketchum's dam, Zera, was pregnant when she was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet. Ketchum was born in an experienced foster home. He moved to a new foster home in March 2018 and met his own family in May. Congrats to Ketchum and the Grisham family!

Evaluation and Training

Ketchum is a handsome young foal who is flashy with his white legs - and he's such a pretty mover! However, he is a fiesty, energetic colt who likes to test limits. He is fairly easy to catch and halter (because he wants to be up pestering you for attention). He leads well and is curious and interested in obstacles. He learned to cross ground poles, cavaletti, and a bridge in hand within minutes of seeing them.He hates being fly sprayed but will get better with practice. He picks up all four hooves well but it still unsure about having them set on the stand or rasped. This will also improve with practice and a patient and kind farrier. He ought to make someone a really pretty open show, working, or pleasure horse when he gets older.
