About Fizzypop

Fizzypop was surrendered when her owners were investigated for neglect.

Fizzy Pop was returned in March of 2024, when her owners were moving out of state and could no longer keep her.

Fizzypop foundered with her adopter, and her adopter kept her in shoes and pads. When she arrived at her foster home in the spring of 2024, she was sound with shoes, so we pulled her shoes, and her veterinarian performed a set of x-rays. She has a small amount of rotations, but the veterinarian said it should not cause her problems. She has been without shoes for about a month and has been sound.

Fizzypop did test positive for Cushings. She’s currently on ½ Prascend pill for Cushings and is doing well. Her veterinarian advised that she be fed primarily hay and not allowed access to lush pastures. She gets about a handful of feed and will eat her Cushings pill as part of her feed.

Evaluation and Training

Fizzypop is an adorable pony mare. Fizzy is SUPER easy to catch and often will walk up to meet you, before you get to her. She leads, loads and is an angel for the farrier. She loves to be groomed and bathed. Fizzy's only drawback is that she gets sunburned easily. For this reason, she wears a flymask, which protects her face from sunburn, and her fly mask will come with her once adopted.

She has learned to enjoy getting it applied as part of her grooming though. Fizzy gets along well with every animal she has met (dogs, cats, goats, chickens & other horses). She is happy being on the bottom of the herd hierarchy.

She spent four months (June-October 2019) working with a child on the ground. She’s doing great at navigating obstacles and working in hand. She has learned to accept saddle pad & saddle and has had a child lead her around, but she's not broke to ride. She has had a lot of groundwork done and can navigate many obstacles in hand. Once you have her trust, she will follow you into/over/through ANYTHING. She doesn't mind the quick movements and loud noises that accompany kids! She is the perfect age to continue her training to ride and/or drive. She would make an adorable kids’ riding and show pony!
