About Gitano

Gitano's owner did not want him and planned to leave him behind when he evacuated for Hurricane Harvey. Fortunately, a neighbor objected so Gitano's owner gave him away. His new person placed him with Bluebonnet. Gitano has an old injury that left one leg enlarged but he seemed sound on that leg. He wasn't broke to ride, but he attended the Bluebonnet Horse Expo and met his adopter. Gitano didn't work out well with his original adopter, so two months later he was rehomed (per our rehoming policy) Congrats to April L!

Evaluation and Training

Gitano is easy to work with and a fun guy to be around. He is very affectionate and loves attention from people. He is calm when other horses are being silly and has a wonderful temperament. With training he would be a great general riding horse or trail horse. Super sensible.Due to the old tendon injury, he probably should not be used for things like endurance, playdays, or jumping. His foster home has worked with him at liberty in the round pen, and he appears sound on that leg. It is a little less flexible because of the scar tissue but it does not seem to bother him.His foster home feels he's probably too much for a timid or beginner handler at this time. He can be pushy and has kicked.
