About Meadow

Meadow mare was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and placed with Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society by a humane society.

Meadow has periodic lameness issues and while she is pasture sound, we did not believe she would make a riding horse.

Meadow was one of seven of our companion only/non-ridable horses that were adopted by one of our supporters. She had the space, time, support system and love to provide a sanctuary, and forever home, to some of the hardest to place horses. Anna, Reba, Tippy, Skeeter, Meadow, Herald, and Miss Pebbles all came to Bluebonnet from different neglect cases, and they all are unridable due to old injuries, age, or conformation issues. These guys have found an amazing home. Thank you to Melissa A. for giving them a place to be - to be fed, to be loved, to be looked after

Evaluation and Training

Meadow had not been handled much, if any, before coming to Bluebonnet. She spent time with a trainer for basic handling and halter training, and she can now be caught (with patience) and leads. She must be sedated for hoof care and needs consistent handling.
