About Pearlie Girl
Pearlie Girl was rescued by another organization and then transferred to Bluebonnet for training and rehoming.
Pearlie Girl was enrolled in the 2023 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Her trainer, however, felt that she was not doing well with the push for training and decided to withdraw from the Challenge. She will continue to work with her until the event, though, and you can follow her progress on her Facebook page.

Evaluation and Training
It seems that Pearlie Girl has not been handled a lot and she's pretty shy. Her trainer is working with her to gain confidence and be a good equine citizen.
Pearlie girl has learned to load herself in the trailer, she walks next to you when leading her. She is great for the farrier and is getting better with baths. You can lunge her at a walk, trot and canter in a round pen on a lunge line. Over the summer of 2023, Pearlie Girl worked with a professional trainer to get started under saddle. She did not deal well with the pressure of daily work and did not progress well for the Challenge. Her trainer decided to withdraw from the Challenge and thinks she would be a nice companion horse as she gets along well with almost everyone. An adopter could also continue working with her under saddle, taking things slow and giving her time to adjust to training.
