About Geordi
Geordi is small, but mighty! His cremello coloring is striking. If you are looking for a smaller horse that’ll make you stand out, consider Geordi. He was removed from negligent owners by the courts and later transferred to Bluebonnet for training and rehoming. He was a stallion when he arrived and gelded right away. We are pleased to say, he has not acted stud-like at all. He spent several months with an experienced youth rider in 2023, and they spent a lot of time riding both at home and a variety of other places to give him experience. He conquered everything she asked him to do.
Geordi is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Makenzie Martin. Geordi will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. Evaluation and Training
Personality & Manners:
- He has a sweet personality and likes people.
- Loves baths and attention from kids but does not like being pestered around the face.
- Loves food! For this reason, he can be food aggressive, so we recommend feeding him separately and allowing him to eat in peace.
Training & Abilities:
- Easy to catch and halter.
- Stands nicely for grooming, cleaning hooves, fly spray, and tacking up.
- Has been ridden in a western and English saddle
- Walks, trots, and canters in arenas, open fields, and on trails.
- Rides in a hackamore or snaffle bit.
- Enjoys trail riding—likes to trot along at either a slow, steady pace and will go faster when asked.
- Navigates trail obstacles confidently and has been hauled to different arenas for exposure.
- Can side pass on the ground and learning under saddle
- Gets buddy sour and doesn’t like being left behind but improves with consistent riding.
- Reacts if dogs crowd behind his legs but does fine if they keep their distance.
Background & Care:
- Cremello coloring with pink skin — requires shaded pasture, sunscreen, and a full-face fly mask in summer.
- Can be tender-footed so may need shoes or boots.
Why He’s Amazing:
Geordi is a pony with a big personality. He’s smart, willing, and full of quirky charm—always keeping his people entertained. He has blossomed with training and consistency, proving that he wants to please and enjoys learning. With his sweet nature, playful spark, and eye-catching looks, Geordi has the potential to shine as a trail partner, open show horse, or pleasure mount. He’s the kind of horse who will bring joy and character to the right home that appreciates both his silliness and his try.
