About Flynn
Flynn was removed from negligent owners by the Houston Humane Society and then placed with Bluebonnet. He was a stallion when he first arrived at Bluebonnet but was gelded quickly and is adjusting well to life as a gelding. In his current home, he’s pastured by himself and has done well.
Evaluation and Training
Flynn’s foster home worked with him after he recovered from gelding and said he was a nice horse. She said he didn’t know much but was willing.
He’s spent four months with trainer Katrina Santiago preparing for the 2022 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She’s started him under saddle and ridden him western. They walk, trot, and canter both in arenas and out in the open. She’s ridden him trails, ridden him over obstacles, hauled him to other arenas for experience, and taught him to lie down so a rider can mount. She’s been swinging a rope off of him, and that doesn’t bother him either. In fact, not much seems to bother this boy!
He’s still green so he needs an intermediate rider to bring him along. He’s not been ridden by kids yet, but Katrina feels he has potential as a kids’ horse with additional training. This guy is a nice age to train in whatever you would like to do – and he’s going to makes someone very lucky!
Flynn is competed in the Professional Division of the 2022 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and was adopted that day.
Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, Flynn was returned.
