About Reagan's Whiskey
Reagan's Whiskey came to Bluebonnet when her owner could no longer care for her. According to the owner, Reagan's Whiskey was gathered by BLM from public lands in Montana. She competed in a Mustang Makeover and was adopted and moved to Colorado. She changed hands again and ended up in Texas. The most recent owner said she acquired Reagan's Whiskey from the previous Texas owner who was not caring for her. Reagan's Whiskey seems like a very kind and good-natured mare. She enjoys attention and stands patiently for grooming (including hooves and fly spray).
Reagan's Whiskey was scheduled to compete in the 2024 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge when her challenge partner quickly fell in love with her and adopted her.
Evaluation and Training
Whiskey has had previous training, but needs a refresher. She understands round pen work, but does not longe. She can be pushy on the ground and benefits from consistent reminders of expectations. She accepts the saddle well; though she struggles with being bridled because she doesn't like her ears handled. She is kind when handled, but learning human interaction is fun.
Overall, Whiskey seems to be a calm, laid-back mare, who enjoys treats and learns quickly.
