About Marty McFly
Marty McFly is a handsome gelding who was transferred to Bluebonnet from another rescue for training and rehoming. He has competed in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge—first assigned to a professional trainer in 2023 (who had to withdraw due to injury), then competing in the Professional Division in 2024, where he gained valuable exposure to shows, obstacles, and new environments.
Marty is a cute guy who is a pretty mover. But because he wasn’t started under saddle until a bit later in life, he needs a consistent, patient, but also firm rider who can keep him progressing. Fortunately, Marty likes to learn and he likes people!
Marty McFly is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Addyson Villarreal. Marty McFly will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. Why He’s Amazing:
Marty McFly has transformed into a versatile gelding who can do a bit of everything—arena work, obstacles, liberty, bareback, bridleless, and trails. He has the talent and athleticism for performance, yet the personality to be someone’s loyal best friend. He does best with a confident, calm, and experienced youth or adult who has strong groundwork skills and a steady presence. Nervous or high-strung handlers won’t be a good match. With the right partner, Marty McFly will keep gaining confidence and could truly excel at just about anything.
