When Skittles arrived at Bluebonnet, she was very nervous around new people. Her foster home worked with her on basics such as being caught and leading.

Her young handler for the Training Challenge and her mom, a professional trainer, continued to work on Skittles ground work skills. Skittles learned to do better in hand, be ponied from another pony, and get her hooves trimmed.

However, Skittles is still very nervous in new situations. We don't believe she's broke to ride - or she may have been broke to ride but then not worked with much and not well trained.

She's going to need an intermediate handler on the ground if she's adopted as a companion/pet. She'll need an advanced rider if someone would like to adopt her and train her to ride.

She's cute as can be, though, and would really love a family of her own - someone patient and willing to show her the good in people and help her developing a long, trusting relationship.
