About Pixie
Pixie came to BEHS in 2006 when her owner surrendered her to the rescue. She was not halter broke and was pretty scared of people when she arrived, but she began to come around. She was adopted in 2011 but returned in 2013 because she didn’t fit in with her adopter’s herd. She's been in a foster home for many months, and they've been working with her. She's coming around, starting to trust them, and has fit into the herd so well that they decided to give her a safe home for life. Congrats to the Lahodny family and Pixie! And thanks to everyone who has helped Pixie on her BEHS journey, In May 2017, Pixie unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our sympathy to her family who loved her and to all of her Bluebonnet connections.
Evaluation and Training
Pixie was not halter broke when she arrived at BEHS. She spent time with a foster home who worked with her and then she spent time with a trainer who had her carrying a saddle. Her adopter did a lot of ground work and said that Pixie was very hard to catch but once caught she stood for grooming, hoof trimming, etc. Pixie is adorable and could be cute for riding or driving if she's adopted by someone willing to train her.
