About Ennis
Ennis is a handsome, seven-year-old, unregistered Paint gelding. He came to Bluebonnet from a neglect case and was still a stallion at the time, but he has since been gelded and adjusted well. He previously lived with both mares and geldings and has shown no stud-like behavior since his gelding. Ennis had little handling before arriving, and he has not yet been started under saddle. With training, he has the potential to shine in nearly any discipline his adopter chooses.

- Can take a few minutes to catch in a large pasture but is easy to halter once caught
- Loads in a trailer with patience
- Stands tied for baths
- Leading is steadily improving
- Has learned to pick up front and back feet, since being with his foster home
- Walks and trots in the round pen and on a lunge line
Background & Care:
- Had little handling before rescue, so he’s still learning farrier manners
- Has kicked when unsure, including with the farrier; however, once he understands what’s being asked, he becomes cooperative
- Recently gelded; has shown no stud-like behavior around mares
- Currently kept alone but has been turned out with a gelding (no problems) and shares a fence line with mares (no problems)
Why He’s Amazing:
Ennis is a pretty gelding with a kind personality and plenty of potential. He’s a blank slate, making him an ideal partner for someone who wants to finish his groundwork and then start him under saddle in the discipline of their choice. With his looks, he could excel as a show horse, but he could just as easily become a trail partner, ranch horse, or pleasure mount with consistent training.
