About Hi Silks
Hi Silks was found estray with 5 other mares in Burleson County. The horses were awarded to BEHS when no owner was found.
Hi Silks came to BEHS in 2009 when six mares were dumped out of a horse trailer on a back county road. When their owner could not be located, the sheriff's department placed all six with BEHS. High Silks has been looking for a home for a while - and she finally found it! In October, she moved to a new foster home and that foster home fell in love with High Silks. She's been riding her and hopes to start showing her soon. Congrats to Hi Silks and Kara! And thank you to Mary, Denise, and everyone else who helped High Silks in her time with BEHS. :)
Evaluation and Training
When High Silks arrived, she was not even halter broke when she arrived. She spent a year being fostered by a trainer who rode her occasionally. She is now in a foster home who is riding her often, and she feels Hi Silks has potential as a western pleasure horse for open shows or a trail horse.
