About Aspen
Aspen was awarded, along with 6 other horses, by the courts to BEHS. She was underweight when she arrived and gradually gained weight. She blossomed into a lovely horse. In the fall of 2011, she went to training with Jere Johnson. One of his clients met her, fell in love and adopted her!
Evaluation and Training
Aspen spent most of the summer (2011) with a a trainer being started under saddle, and he just raves about how sweet she is. She's learned to ground drive and the trainer has started her under saddle. Although green, the trainer says she's calm and quiet under saddle. She's walking, trotting, turning, stopping and backing under saddle and the trainer is working on her lope (August 2011). She's very soft in the mouth and moves off from very light leg pressure.
