About Dezzy
Happy Adoption Day, Dezzy! Dezzy is an approx. 14 year old, grade (likely Thoroughbred) mare who came to BEHS in 2011 from a neglect case. She recovered but she's taken her time finding the right family. She competed in 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Training Challenge in the pro division and then competed in 2014 in the Needs More Training division. She met her new family at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo, they fell in love and applied to adopt.
Dezzy crossed the rainbow bridge in November 2019 with a neurological problem or injury.
Evaluation and Training
Dezzy is a sweet, friendly, easy-to-work-with horse who likes attention. She knows how to lead, load, and stand for saddling and bridling. She's learned to longe, and she's not too old to train to do almost anything. Her foster home/trainer started her under saddle and she’s doing well. She’s learned to navigate trail obstacles and ride in an arena. She needs a confident rider, but she could learn to do almost anything for the right person! She’s competed under saddle in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and did well.
