About Ferrous Oxide
Ferrous Oxide was seized by law enforcement and placed with BEHS by the courts. Ferrous is a nervous pony, and he came to the Bluebonnet Horse Expo hoping to find an adopter. No one at the Expo wanted to take a chance on him, but he went home with a new foster home. A neighbor of hers saw Ferrous and knew he had to have him. Ferrous will be going to training to help him overcome his nervousness and then will become a child's pony!
Evaluation and Training
Ferrous Oxide, or Rusty as he's affectionately known, has not been handled in a long time but is coming around well. His foster home said he is slow to trust. He doesn't like changes to his routine, so he needs someone who can remember to take routine changes slow and not push him too hard or fast.
He likes children better than adults, but since he can be pretty nervous he isn't ready to be a kids' horse.
He could be a cute pet or a companion for a lonely horse - and that's the job he would really prefer. If the right adopter came along, he could be trained to ride or drive but since he's very leery and distrusting it will take the right person to work with him.
