About Obie
Obie was surrendered to Bluebonnet when his owners were investigated for neglect. It seems he had not had much handling before coming to Bluebonnet.
Obie competed in the 2018 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo. He met his adopter at the Expo. Congrats Obie!
Evaluation and Training
Obie is a sweet little guy, and he’s smart and not spooky at all. He’s been started under saddle by his Training Challenge trainer, and they’re currently working under saddle at a walk, trot, and canter. They’ve been trail riding – including a TTC ride in which they were just 0.5 point out of the ribbons in the top class, competing against professionals on seasoned horses. He’s also been working cattle – but he’s not a fan of cattle and prefers the trails!
