About Chickadee
Chickadee's dam, Kiera, was pregnant when she arrived at Bluebonnet from a neglect case. Chickadee was born in an experienced foster home so she has had good care her entire life.
Chickadee is a lovely filly who is going going to make someone a fantastic horse! She has a sweet, laid back disposition and loves people (so much so that she sometimes needs to be reminded to respect a handler’s personal space). She knows her name and will come up from a large pasture when called. She practically halters herself. She leads, stands quietly when tied, and is good with the farrier. She gets along with all the other horses and is used to cattle, dogs, deer, and emus. We estimate that Chickadee will be about 14 hands when mature, and judging by her dam (see photo) she will have a stocky build.

Chickadee was adopted in December 2020 but returned in November 2021 when her adopter realized she didn't have the time for a youngster.
Evaluation and Training
Chickadee has had good handling since birth. She leads, stands for the farrier, and has had regular vetting. We want to adopt her to a family or individual who will enjoy working with her on the ground but not start her under saddle until she's at least three to give her time to mature. She's such a nice age to adopt and bond with now - and you'll get to watch her grow and mature!
